Kathmandu Model Hospital School of Nursing Kathmandu Model Hospital School of Nursing (KAMHSON) was established in 2058 B.S. with eighteen years of glorious history in the field of nursing education.
Nursing profession is beyond its traditional reputation of sympathy, empathy, compassion and devotion; but rather is a highly dedicated profession constantly evolving to address the health needs of the society. Nurses are extremely vital component to quality healthcare and patient education; from ensuring the most accurate diagnoses to building personal relationship with the patients which are the requisite for one’s healing. Our nursing programs
We offer three different academic programs that will suit your educational background.
Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) Nursing
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Post Basic Bachelor of Nursing (PBN))
Minimum second division or 45% in total
S.L.C/S.E.E or equivalent with English, Mathematics and Science compulsory.
Minimum ‘C’ grade in compulsory subjects (Mathematics, English & Science) with minimum of 2 GPA
Medical fitness
PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATE LEVEL (PCL)
PCL nursing graduates are eligible to work as a Nurse in hospital setting, in school as a school health nurse, as teachers in the institution of junior health service providers like ANMs, CMA and others even in schools. This course, therefore, helps one become an imperative person for caring family and neighborhood in providing general and Sexual Reproductive Maternity and Child Health (SRMNH) care service.

- This nursing course is the foundation for an advance education, offering primary level of cognitive, psychomotor and affective domain of education.
- This provides basic knowledge to the students on heath care along with procedural skills, techniques and facilitates professional behavior development desired in dealing with care receiver and their satisfaction in offered health service.

The course also includes basic level midwifery subjects that make the students capable in basic maternity and neonatal care service.
- Some seats in this course are allocated for ANMs as in-service quota.

At least one year work experience from recognized health institutions
Nepal Nursing Council (NNC) Registration
Post basic bachelor of nursing (PBNs)
PBNS graduates are eligible for managerial position, teachers, basic researcher and advance practitioners. One can also develop a career as a nursing entrepreneur with private investment and contribute to the overall health of the people in the country.

This three-years nursing course is as an advanced level course in nursing for staff nurses .
We offer three major elective subjects for you to select and enhance your interest for career development:
1. Medical Surgical (Adult Nursing I)
2. Psychiatric Nursing
3.Midwifery
Completion of Certificate Level or 10+2 with Biology subject
Minimum of 50% in total or ‘C’ grade in all subjects with minimum of 2.4 as Total GPA
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
BSN graduates will be able to carry out the professional responsibility as a nursing officer, faculty member, basic researcher and care provider along with private nursing entrepreneurship.

BSN is a Four-years course after Higher Secondary Level of Basic Science (Biology group) designed to combine basic and advance level of nursing knowledge and practice with the aim of preparing competent professional nurses to work in education, administrative and service sector.
